Why Start With an Intake Appointment?
Your intake session helps us:
- Learn about your goals, concerns, history, and preferences
- Match you with a therapist who fits your style, personality, and needs
- Determine the right level of care — from weekly therapy to integrated therapy + medication management, to trauma or reproductive mental health specialty services
- Explore whether a higher level of care, like one of our Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs), may be helpful
- Identify if diagnostic testing for ADHD or ASD (for children, teens, or adults) would support your treatment plan
- Provide space to ask questions, express uncertainties, or share anything you’re nervous about before beginning
You don’t need to know where to start — that’s exactly what the intake appointment is for.
Core Services:

Our goal is simple: meet people where they are and connect them to the right level of care quickly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Our Clinical Navigation Specialists are trained MMHC clinicians who listen to your story and help design a treatment plan that aligns with your goals. Their expertise ensures you begin care with the right provider and level of support.
Just your completed paperwork, a private space, and a device with audio and video capabilities.
In your first visit, you’ll meet with a licensed clinician who specializes in clinical navigation. This 30–45 minute session is designed to gather key information about your background, current concerns, and goals for care. The clinician will use this information to ensure you’re matched with the most appropriate provider or care team to support your mental health journey.
Matching means we look at your goals, personality, preferences, schedule, and clinical needs to connect you with a therapist or provider who is the best fit.
We believe that you are best served when you have a strong, clinical & personal connection with your provider, which we call Therapeutic Alliance. In addition, we look to see which services MMHC offers like individual therapy, medication management, group therapy or specialty clinics like trauma or diagnostic testing.
Great! If you know a provider or have found someone through our provider directory, let your Clinical Navigation Specialist know. We will work to understand what about your desired provider meets your preferences and work to match you with them or the clinicians who best align to your treatment plan.
